The conference continued with a presentation on “Why Study in Europe” by James Anyan, an alumnus of Erasmus Mundus programme and a higher education Consultant for World Bank, Ghana Office. This highlighted the number of advantages European higher education offers to prospective students from Ghana. Then, an introduction of the Erasmus Mundus Programme and the Erasmus Mundus Students and Alumni Association (EMA) as well as the EMA-African Chapter by Ms Karen Basiye. The main presentations concluded with a telling our Erasmus Mundus Experience’ session by 8 Erasmus Mundus Alumni currently living and working in Ghana as well those from other African countries.
A forum of question and answers was incorporated in the conference to allow students to clarify issues from all the presentations. This was very interesting as multiple questions came up and were well addressed by the presenters and the alumni present.
The conference ended with a networking lunch where participants interacted with alumni from Ghana as well as an opportunity for the alumni to deliberate on how best to move the EMA-African Chapter forward. This conference brought together over 200 participants from multiple universities in Ghana and was covered by Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, a nationwide radio station, Radio Universe - a University of Ghana campus radio station, and the Chronicle and Daily Graphic news papers, print media organisations in Ghana.
