BOARD PROFILE

1. PRESIDENT


Apiyo Okwiri, was born in KENYA and is a graduate of Joint European Master in Comparative Local Development (CoDe), graduation 2009 having studied in Italy and Hungary. Currently, She works as Monitoring and evaluation coordinator in a NGO in Kenya. She has participated in different EM events; Climate Change conference 2008, Dilemma of Brain Drain and Brain Gain in Africa. She was an EMMC 2008-2010 and active member of the EMA policy team from 2009. She was active in organizing EMA-Kenya networking events; EM promotions and participated in ‘Study in Europe’ Fairs in Kenya and South Africa’

2. VICE-PRESIDENT

Lambini Cosmas Kombat from Ghana, is an alumnus of the International Master in Rural Development (IMRD), Class of 2009 and a lead member of the IMRD student group coordinated in Ghent and has experiences in student and youth networks globally, He was part of the inaugural meeting of the Assembly of European Region Youth Network, and an active member of the Young Professionals in Agricultural Research for Development, and was part of the young graduates involved in the 30 Years Right Livelihood Award, Alternative Nobel Prize Conference. Cosmas, is currently researching in France, at INRA/LEF AgroParistech, in an EU funded NEWFOREX Project.

3.  GENERAL SECRETARY

Aimable Uwizeye, born in Rwanda. He has Graduated in Veterinary Medicine and is currently student in Agris Mundus Masters in Agriculture sustainable development in Montpellier France where he served as Secretary of Agris Mundus Association in 2010-2011. Before joining Erasmus Mundus, he worked for Rwanda Animal Resources Development Authority and made some consultancies with FAO Eastern Africa. 4. TREASURER






Jean Bosco Siborurema, from Rwanda. He has graduated in Erasmus Master Course  in Ports and Maritime Business Management and Maritime Law, Transnational Trade Law. Currently, he works as Finance Manager for Non Government Organization known as Health Poverty Action in Rwanda.







5. EVENTS COORDINATOR

Shingirirai Mutanga from Zimbabwe, He joined the  Erasmus Mundus program in 2005 and hold an Master of Sciences in Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation for Environmental Modeling and Management (GEM). Currently He is based in South Africa working for the Africa Institute of South Africa, a science council focusing on African Affairs. 6. REGIONAL COORDINATOR - SOUTHERN AFRICA

Martha Alida Geldenhuys, grew up in Cape Town, South Africa. She completed a degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa in 2007. During her studies. She  participated in various other activities including SAWOMENG (South African Women in ENGineering) and Stellenbosch University´s Environmental Committee which implemented various projects at the University. Thereafter I worked in the field of Port Engineering, mainly on projects in other African countries. She joined the Erasmus Mundus course in  Coastal and Marine Engineering for the 2009 to 2011 group. She graduated in July 2011 and is currently working at an engineering consultancy called Aurecon in Cape Town, South Africa. She would like to help create awareness about these programs and the importance of education as a whole in Southern Africa.

7. REGIONAL COORDINATOR - EASTERN AFRICA

Cornelius Were Okello,was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya. Currently student in Erasmus Mundus Masters in Water and Coastal Management form the Universities of Plymouth in the UK and Cadiz in Spain where is  current course representative. He has worked for Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute and UNEP’s Water Division. 




8. REGIONAL COORDINATOR - CENTRAL AFRICA

Jude Dzevela Kong, was born at Shiy-Jakiri, Cameroun. He joined He served in Education institution in Cameroun before joining the Erasmus Mundus  course in Mathematical Modelling in Engineering: Theory, Numerics, Applications Master's in 2010.

9. REGIONAL COORDINATOR-WESTERN AFRICA

Emmanuel Senyo Fianuis from Ghana. He has graduated in Erasmus Mundus Master Course in Models and Methods of Quantitative Economics, (QEM) from the Université Paris 1, panthéon-Sorbonne in Paris, France and Bielefeld University in Bielefeld, Germany. Currently, he studies for his PhD in Economics and Finance at the University of Verona, Italy.









10. REGIONAL COORDINATOR-NORTHERN AFRICA

Abdeltif El Ouahrani, from Tetouan, Morocco, currently  PhD student, interested in climate change impacts on Mediterranean forest ecosystems, forestry education, and development issues in the region.
He joined the Erasmus Master course in 2004 in European Forestry in Joensuu, Finland. He attended in 2005 the first meeting of EMA in Brussels and also later in 2009, the EMA General Assembly in Budapest. He has been involved as member of Job and promotion team in 2006-2007 and as country representative for the same period.
